==Welcome== Hello Andouble and welcome to Wikipedia! I'm glad you've chosen to join us. This is a great project with lots of dedicated people, which might seem intimidating at times, but don't let anything discourage you. Be bold!, explore, and contribute. If you want to learn more,
Wikipedia:Bootcamp teaches you the basics quickly,

Five Pillars of Wikipedia
Float around for awhile until you find something that tickles your fancy. One easy way to do this is to hit the random page button in the navigation bar to the left. There are also many great committees and groups that focus on particular jobs. My personal favorite stomping grounds are Wikipedia:Translation into English and Wikipedia:Cleanup for sloppy articles. Finally, the Wikimedia Foundation has several other wiki projects that you might enjoy.
There are a few crucial points to keep in mind when editing. Be civil with users, strive to maintain a neutral point of view, verify your information, and show good etiquette like signing your comments with four tildes like this: ~~~~ If you have any more questions, always feel free to ask me anything on my talk page or ask the true experts at Wikipedia:Help desk. Again, welcome! -- Draeco 18:48, 22 December 2005 (UTC)
[edit] Simpsons' Picture
Hi Andouble,
You posted the picture on the right with a link to the The Old Man and the Lisa episode. But I believe this a picture of the mathemagician from Martin's party in the Grade School Confidential episode. As such, I have removed it from the List of The Simpsons episodes page. Please correct me if I am wrong.
Thanks for your work on Wikipedia so far.

[edit] Junior Players
I admire your enthusiasm, but is there really any point to creating articles about junior hockey players? Take Evan McGrath for example, I myself am a Kitchener Rangers fan, but I am skeptical about if he will even make the NHL. He is a fourth round draft pick, and did not make the Canadian Junior Team either in his senior year, as well. My point is, if we start trying to make articles about all the junior players, we are wasting energy that could be put to better use into improving our NHL player articles that we already have, or better yet, creating new articles about NHL players that haven't been created yet (and there are tons of those).
Junior players might not be considered notable enough to be in an encyclopedia, because there are even hundreds of junior stars in any given year. I would like to hear your own thoughts on this.
As well, when you create hockey articles, don't forget to add the WikiProject Ice Hockey template on the talk page, as I did on the Boris Valabik article. Croat Canuck 03:48, 5 February 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Double Linking
Just a little notice, there is no need to link things twice and in fact it is discouraged to be providing more than one link to the same article (ie. NCAA, and then linking to NCAA later on), Why? I'm not entirely sure, but that doesn't mean there isn't a reason. Its just I noticed that you were putting multiple links to leagues in the honours and awards sections of players. Keep up the good work! Croat Canuck 02:55, 15 February 2006 (UTC)
[edit] International Play
Hey. Your contribs are great, but I think you misunderstand what the "International Play" section was meant for in the player articles. I think it meant for IIHF sanctioned international tournaments like the World Championships and the Olympics and not for intranational play that just happens to be in a country not the US or Canada. ccwaters 16:20, 15 February 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Agents Wanted To Help Investigate The X-Files
Hello, I noticed your interest in X-Files. I'm a member of the [X-Files Wiki]. Our community is small and needs alot of work, unlike Star Trek, Star Wars and over over-populated Wikias we are crying out for content and help not cutting, deleting and mercilessly re-editing. I wonder if you'd like to help?
We have alot of tidying and re-structuring to do on X-Files articles on regular Wikipedia also. If you'd like to discuss how you could help any further, give me a shout. Thanks!

[edit] Junior B Teams
Hello, a user has decided that he does not want us placing hockey stubs on Wikipedia to expand later into teams. In particular he doesn't like Junior teams... I was wondering if you could please voice your opinion. Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Thunder Bay Northern Hawks DMighton 01:08, 19 June 2006 (UTC)
[edit] AfD Nomination Maggie's Revenge
I've nominated the article Maggie's Revenge for deletion under the Articles for deletion process. We appreciate your contributions, but in this particular case I do not feel that Maggie's Revenge satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion. I have explained why in the nomination space (see What Wikipedia is not and Deletion policy). Your opinions on the matter are welcome; please participate in the discussion by adding your comments at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Maggie's Revenge. Don't forget to add four tildes (~~~~) at the end of each of your comments to sign them. You are free to edit the content of Maggie's Revenge during the discussion, but please do not remove the "Articles for Deletion" template (the box at the top). Doing so will not end the discussion. -- MOE.RON talk | done | doing 21:19, 6 July 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Image:BBoyes.jpg
Thanks for uploading Image:BBoyes.jpg. I notice the 'image' page specifies that the image is being used under fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first fair use criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed image could reasonably be found or created. If you believe this image is not replaceable, please:
- Go to the image description page and edit it to add {{Replaceable fair use disputed}}
- On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.
If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our fair use criteria. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that any fair use images which are replaceable by free-licensed alternatives will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. – Quadell (talk) (random) 18:17, 1 November 2006 (UTC)

Hello, Andouble. An automated process has found and removed a fair use image used in your userspace. The image (Image:4f17.jpg) was found at the following location: User talk:Andouble. This image was removed per criterion number 9 of our non-free content policy. The image was replaced with Image:NonFreeImageRemoved.svg, so your formatting of your userpage should be fine. Please find a free image to replace it with. User:Gnome (Bot)-talk 01:19, 7 May 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Orphaned fair use image (Image:1f18.jpg)
Thanks for uploading Image:1f18.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable under fair use (see our fair use policy).
If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BetacommandBot 07:06, 12 May 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Notability of Trevor Crowe
Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on Trevor Crowe, by another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because Trevor Crowe seems to be about a person, group of people, band, club, company, or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not assert the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.
To contest the tagging and request that administrators wait before possibly deleting Trevor Crowe, please affix the template {{hangon}} to the page, and put a note on its talk page. If the article has already been deleted, see the advice and instructions at WP:WMD. Please note, this bot is only informing you of the nomination for speedy deletion, it did not nominate Trevor Crowe itself. Feel free to leave a message on the bot operator's talk page if you have any questions about this or any problems with this bot. --Android Mouse Bot 2 05:46, 6 June 2007 (UTC)

WikiProject Ice Hockey Newsletter Dear Andouble! You are receiving this newsletter because you have signed up as a member of WikiProject Ice Hockey. The purpose of this newsletter is to update on the goings on of the project, as there have been major changes, and a lot of new recognized content in the past few weeks. If you are an inactive user, you probably won't recognize the new and improved state of the WikiProject! From the project, Maxim. edit

Article Improvement By Maxim Upon some discussion on the WikiProject talk page, the Article Improvement Drive page was revamped by Krm500 and Maxim. It was renamed Wikipedia:WikiProject Ice Hockey/Article Improvement, and it includes two section. The first section is called articles in dire need of improvement. It list articles, usually important, that are in very poor shape. The second section is called requested help. Users list an article they request help improving a certain article, which will facilitate collaboration, which is the aim of any WikiProject. There is one article currently listed there, Henrik Lundqvist, here. The goal is to at least get it to Good article status. edit
Diacritics By Maxim In the past few weeks, there has been quite heated discussion about the use of diacritics in article name. The current guideline is using diacritics in the pages of articles of all player names which require them, but redirects are exempt. edit
Task forces By Maxim This task force was initiated by Krm500. Its current goal is to improve Henrik Lundqvist to Good or Featured article status. It covers all Swedish clubs, leagues and competitions and associated articles, players and coaches that are Swedish, or have played/coached for a Swedish club, and arenas in Sweden. They plan to eventually operate as a sort of a sub-project, which will have its own articles for creation, ranking importance and quality of articles, and co-ordinate article improvement. Its current members are Krm500, Bamsefar75, and CLAES. This task force was initiated by Bsroiaadn. Its goal is to improve New Jersey Devils to Featured Topic status. Although it currently meets the required article count, the task force wishes to improve it further. Its area of coverage is very similar to the Sweden Ice Hockey task force. Its members are Bsroiaadn, JHMM13, FutureNJGov, Sportskido8, Michael Greiner, JRWalko, and Soxrock. edit
