AfD Nomination: Crazy Daisy Nightclub
An editor has nominated the article Crazy Daisy Nightclub for deletion, under the Articles for deletion process. We appreciate your contributions, but the nominator doesn't believe it satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and has explained why in the nomination (also see What Wikipedia is not and Deletion policy). Your opinions on why the topic of the article meets inclusion criteria and what should be done with the article are welcome: participate in the discussion by editing Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Crazy Daisy Nightclub. Add four tildes like this ~~~~ to sign your comments. You can also edit the article Crazy Daisy Nightclub during the discussion, but do not remove the "Articles for Deletion" template (the box at the top of the article), this will not end the deletion debate. The Human League
Your most recent deletion of 'Triva' (fair enough) seems to have inadvertently re-introduced some less than desirable spelling / grammar. Have a look at the differences in copy - you will see what I mean - I hope. Best wishes,

Human League's upcoming album.
Hi
As a huge fan of Human League, I think that it is a good idea to add a upcoming album link in order to promote the album (if there is going to be one). Even if PO doesn't plan to release an album people will come to the Wikipedia article, see the link and become interested that they are releasing a new album. Then they may even hammer PO into releasing one! Hope this makes sense! DuranDuran 07:10, 4 April 2007 (UTC) (navigator)
- Re: Thank you, I do understand now! I really hope that The Human League do have a comeback as their music is absolutely wonderful and sorry to say but they should show these new artists what REAL music is! Regards! DuranDuran 10:05, 4 April 2007 (UTC) (Duran Duran navigator)
Orphaned non-free image (Image:861323171 791144.jpg)
Thanks for uploading Image:861323171 791144.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).
If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BetacommandBot 05:44, 16 June 2007 (UTC)
Fair use rationale for Image:Life On Your Own.jpg
Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:Life On Your Own.jpg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use. Suggestions on how to do so can be found here.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Dark Falls talk 11:32, 14 July 2007 (UTC)

Commercial use of Image:2005 trio.jpg
Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on Image:2005 trio.jpg, by 17Drew (talk · contribs), another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because Image:2005 trio.jpg has a copyright license type implying some type of restricted use, such as for non-commercial use only, or for educational use only or for use on Wikipedia by permission, which was either uploaded on or after 2005-05-19 or is not used in any articles (CSD I3). While it might seem reasonable to assume that such files can be freely used on Wikipedia, this is in fact not the case[1][2]. Please do not upload any more files with these restrictions on them, because content on Wikipedia needs to be compatible with the GNU Free Documentation License, which allows anyone to use it for any purpose, commercial or non-commercial. See our non-free content guidelines for more more information.
If you created this media file and want to use it on Wikipedia, you may re-upload it (or amend the image description if it has not yet been deleted) and use the license {{GFDL-self}} to license it under the GFDL, or {{cc-by-sa-2.5}} to license it under the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike license, or use {{PD-self}} to release it into the public domain.
If you did not create this media file but want to use it on Wikipedia, there are two ways to proceed. First, you may choose one of the fair use tags from this list if you believe one of those fair use rationales applies to this file. Second, you may want to contact the copyright holder and request that they make the media available under a free license.
If the article has already been deleted, see the advice and instructions at WP:WMD. This bot is only informing you of the nomination for speedy deletion, it did not nominate Image:2005 trio.jpg itself. Feel free to leave a message on the bot operator's talk page if you have any questions about this or any problems with this bot. If you have any questions about what to do next or why your image was nominated for speedy deletion please ask at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. Thanks. --Android Mouse Bot 2 08:53, 8 August 2007 (UTC)

Just wanted to discuss this with you, since I see you reverted my edit. The site in question contains lyrics to songs. These are located at [3]]. Those lyrics are copyrighted by the publisher, and are reproduced on that site without any visible permission from the publisher. This is a copyright violation, not on behalf on Wikipedia, but the website itself. Wikipedia's copyright policy says very definitely that we should not be linking to sites that have copyright violations on them. Therefore we need to remove this link. Please let me know if you have any questions. I will check this page for your replies and, if I have not heard anything from you in a couple of days, will remove the link again. Thanks. -- Alucard (Dr.) | Talk 14:34, 11 August 2007 (UTC)
- I undid the link removal you performed because I know that all material on that website is used with permission by the band, who solely or jointly own the copyright. The webmaster Niels Krolling (Whom I communicate with regularly) is well known by The Human League as you can see in other sections of his site. He actually gets most of his site material from the band themselves via band member David Beevers. In this section[4] he credits The Human League as copyright holder. This is sufficient evidence that copyright is being observed. Copyright and rights permissions is a complicated subject and will be different for every lyric listed as well as other sections for his site so there is every possibility that one of the other writers or various record labels may object to this, but then that becomes a matter between them and the webmaster and hasn't happened in the 7 years the site has been active. As far as Wikipedia is concerned the site is complying by obtaining permission and crediting copyright. His site is not just a lame "fan site" it is the most detailed archive about The Human League on the internet. The Human League do not have an official website as a matter of policy; preferring to use their principal "fan sites" as proxies. If they are unhappy with anything on an unofficial site they do not hesitate in asking the webmaster to remove it, this has happened a few times, usually regarding their private lives. If you check my edit history you will note that I only work on The Human League (so am speaking with some knowledge). Also that I regularly remove Myspace, Youtube and Lyrics sites from Human League articles, as I know that the band have not given permission for these sites or that the site is deliberately breeching copyright. I understand why you removed the link, and if I had linked directly to the lyrics themselves that would have been stretching acceptability. I also understand that this is part of a larger argument about the validity of “fan sites”. The website is externally linked to as an authority, on most of the Human League articles I’ve created. It is also my principal method providing online verification references, because quite simply the information isn’t readily available elsewhere and will cause me considerable referencing problems if I can’t use it.
Regards Andi064 16:08, 11 August 2007 (UTC)
Thanks for responding - I removed it because there was no attribution on the pages. I don't have enough knowledge of copyright issues to know whether this meets the requirements for Wikipedia, so I will ask someone who has more knowledge to advise. Thanks. -- Alucard (Dr.) | Talk 19:44, 11 August 2007 (UTC)

Human League stuff
Andi, I very very much appreciate all your hard work on bringing Human League articles up to a good standard - I know you're very adamant about making these articles as accurate and unbiased as possible. However, every time you create or modify an article, they always require a huge overhaul and clanup because of formatting mistakes. Pleeeeeeeeeeeaase, keep in mind the following things:
- All song titles should be "quoted".
- Albums, EPs, film titles, TV shows, magazines, published works (books) are italicised.
- There is no need to wikilink the same name or the same title over and over again throughout the article.
- Please double-check your text before saving the page. The text editor you're using to work on the articles does not display apostrophes, quotation marks or ellipses correctly and these always have to be corrected.
- Capitalization - headers only need the first word capitalized, unless there is a proper title or name there. Also, no need to capitalize nouns such as "Band" or "Producer".
I don't mean to be nit-picky and I appreciate all you've done here - I'm just giving you a head's up for future work you do, as I've done a lot of cleanup on these Human League articles. Here is a barnstar and I'll talk to you later! - eo 15:54, 26 September 2007 (UTC)
Thanks for uploading Image:HLplaque2.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, their copyright should also be acknowledged.
As well as adding the source, please add a proper copyright licensing tag if the file doesn't have one already. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.
If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 20:00, 23 October 2007 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. NOTE: once you correct this, please remove the tag from the image's page.
