Hi, I share your passion into Another World, but, sadly enougn, I have to admit that your analysis should be radicaly modified. First of all, I miss some kind of references. Or to some reference where a similar analysis is explained. Of course there is a possibility that dark blue symbolizes danger, but I feel that it symbolizes some kind of strnage peace that is interrupted later by a sudden violation... But it may be just an intuition of the artist or an ordinary graphics engine limitation. But I can feel something very strong when I watch the intro or when I play the game (especially on a 15" old monitor and a computer with genuine DOS OS, not the emulator) Because you came with the analysis, you should be the most competent one to improve it. I suggest that you put it on some website and try to get some feedback. Wikipedia isn't the best place for this. I suggest that you look here: http://db.gamefaqs.com/console/segacd/file/heart_of_the_alien.txt It is an interesting paper about the sequel of AW Regards Matthew

P.S.: Since I am Czech, I have written an article about AW in our wikipedia. I am not very engaged in the english version.

Hi. Thanks for your feedback. Yes, there is something very ambient about the intro, especially for a 1990 computer game. It bears some resemblance to movies like Blade Runner, in my opinion. It's particularly good if you view it at night and, as you write, on the original equipment. I think the image of the 'lonely genius' has a special appeal to many geeks.
You are very right that the dark bluish tones could be intepreted peacefully as well. Blue is sometimes called the color of hope and exactly hope is often considered a key sentiment in (cyber)punk culture, AFAIK.
I think that the thematic side of this game is very important to its status as a classic and that an encyclopedia article which doesn't cover this side of it, at least superficially, is incomplete. But you might be right that there is other approaches to get it up to standards. --AndersFeder 01:42, 4 August 2006 (UTC)
