A transplanted full time resident of Kingston, I was originally born in Hamilton, Ontario. The son of a teacher from Peterborough and an entrepreneur who grew up in Kingston himself, I came "back" to Kingston as a student in 2003.
During the 2004 and 2005 summers, I had the honor and privilege of serving as a member of the elite Fort Henry Guard Drill Squad. I thoroughly enjoyed the leadership aspects of the job, and won an award for my rifle handling proficiency.
I am entering my 4th year at Queen's, taking courses in philosophy and economics. I am writing the LSATs this fall, in anticipation of attending law school. I would like to remain in Kingston for my professional life, and I hope to be a contributing force for the changing of attitudes that this city is experiencing. In the years I've been in Kingston, I've noticed a lot of development. This city has one of the faster growing economies in Canada, and I hope to engage it as a serial entrepreneur. As long as Kingston can continue to foster a sense of economic development, I think many of Queen's best and brightest will choose to stay in Kingston when they graduate, or at least during their summer breaks as I have.
I am the type of Queen's student who comes to Kingston and falls in love with their new home. I truly believe that Kingston is the best city in which to live, and I would greatly appreciate the privilege of representing its interests on the next city council.
