[edit] Re: tag on Favalora page

Dear Mr. Fader, thank you for removing the tag on Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Miami. I am not sure if you are aware that the tag remains on the page for John Favalora. Although I am not sure if I have anything more to contribute to that page, I may clean it up and propose it for Good Article too. If there is no more mediation can you please take the tag off of that page? Thanks.NancyHeise 20:57, 8 October 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Mediation availibility

Hey Andre, it's been a few weeks since your last communication at -

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia_talk:Requests_for_mediation/John_Buscema

- I'm assuming at this point that you've dropped the case. Could you confirm one way or the other?

[edit] List of Japanese N64 games

I noticed your one of the people that wished there to be a list of Japanese games online for Wikipedia which I tried to make for the Nintendo 64 a few months ago, but just like when they where added to the orginal List of Nintendo 64 games they are trying to delete the new page List of Japanese Nintendo 64 games here's a link Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/List of Japanese Nintendo 64 games to the discussion, how about giving your view. [edit] Village Pump discussion

We spoke a while back about whether or not there should be font color overrides for the various templates like {{userlinks}}. I thought I'd let you know I've started a discussion in order to get wider input from the community on this (among several other things, of course, doing it for this alone would be frivolous). —Random832 18:34, 10 October 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Quick question

Hey Andrevan! I was wondering if you could help me a bit :) I know that you are a good programmer, and figured you'd be the person to ask my question to. I'm creating a bot that archives threads on ANI that are marked with the {{resolved}} template. I have the source code below, written in Python with the Pywikipedia framework, and any tips or fixes would be appreciated. Thanks! ( arky ) 02:42, 31 October 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Image:Super Mario Bros box.jpg

Sorry to bother you about this now, but you uploaded this image in 2004 and did not put a source. I am now trying to get Super Mario Bros. to good status, so can you please add source information? Thank you. NF24(radio me!Editor review) 10:39, 31 October 2007 (UTC)

If I may jump in here—it already has sufficient source information. Pagrashtak 16:13, 31 October 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Welcome back

Welcome back. Just a thought, you may wish to block User:Vampire Warrior for one second linking back to his old block log. I (talk) 14:04, 9 November 2007 (UTC)

I did so, as it seemed relatively uncontroversial. Ditto the welcome back :) I dunno what the standard is about one-second blocks in the old accounts linking to the new (ie. Tyler Warren's log), so I'll leave that one to you. Daniel 14:52, 9 November 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Reference to contact information for famous people

Dear Andrevan,

You invited me to consult with you at the time of my joining Wikipedia. So here it goes:

We gather (with permission) and maintain, through members participation and other means, an excellent database of contact information to celebrities and newsworthy individuals that are published on our website - take Michael Paré as an example.

I feel that Wikipedia readers will benefit from this information, and that a reference to our contact pages is in order.

Our website, which resides on a dedicated serve, is up since mid-2004 and is run by a mature group of qualified people.

My first post on Britney Spears page was given the cold shower, even though I courtiously requested editorial feedback on the talk page. I was even given the usual speech about the "Nofollow" tags while I was among the firsts to advocate the use of this attribute.

The goal is to provide this useful information to the readers, and I have no desire to challenge Wikipedia practices and guidelines.

Please advise with your kind opinion and instruct me about proper implementation, if at all.

Sincerely yours, Midas touch 08:44, 12 November 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Concerning a revert

Hello Andrevan,

I'm contacting you because of this revert you made to the Nights: Journey of Dreams-article.

You state that "changes don't have a reputable source", but I must kindly disagree. I don't know if you've looked at the source, or just concluded you didn't know the source, but on this topic alone, the source has been the first to report on half the article. The previous delay for Europe was confirmed by this source months before it was official, they were the first to confirm multiplayer, online and a lot of storyline details, all long before it was official. Based on that alone, it's safe to say this is a reputable source.

Okay. You finish it then. I've already promoted but edit conflicted with you. Secretlondon 01:38, 16 November 2007 (UTC)

[edit] My friend

Andre my friend, I want to share with you that the government of Puerto Rico has bestowed upon me the highest honor that can be bestowed upon a civilian. The Puerto Rican Senate has recognized me as one of their greatest military historians and have honored me because of my worl in Wikipedia. Check it out here:Press Releases. Not bad right? [edit] Might and Magic Tribute

Hi, I distinctly remember an article Might and Magic Tribute, but I just found it deleted. I was not aware of the deletion review. Could you provide me with the article and talk page contents? Regards, Guido den Broeder (talk) 22:45, 12 December 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Orphaned non-free media (Image:Mycon.png)

Thanks for uploading Image:Mycon.png. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 19:45, 30 December 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Redirect of User talk:SunStar Net/Rachel Marsden

Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on User talk:SunStar Net/Rachel Marsden, by another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because User talk:SunStar Net/Rachel Marsden is a redirect to a non-existent page (CSD R1).

To contest the tagging and request that administrators wait before possibly deleting User talk:SunStar Net/Rachel Marsden, please affix the template {{hangon}} to the page, and put a note on its talk page. If the article has already been deleted, see the advice and instructions at WP:WMD. Feel free to contact the bot operator if you have any questions about this or any problems with this bot, bearing in mind that this bot is only informing you of the nomination for speedy deletion; it does not perform any nominations or deletions itself. [edit] Disputed fair use rationale for Image:Arilou.png

Thanks for uploading Image:Arilou.png. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot (talk) 06:24, 2 January 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Noahwoo to Thylacinus cynocephalus

Can you explain your edit here? By redirecting and allowing this user to change his user name, you have effectively allowed him to conceal their block log. - Arcayne (cast a spell) 23:08, 4 January 2008 (UTC)

Quite honestly, there is nothing in ths user's history that doesn't suggest that he is not going to abuse this name change. He was blocked after repeated warnings to cease vandalizing pages, and I am pretty confident that this behavior isn't going to abate after a change in name. Do you have the link where he made the request? - Arcayne (cast a spell) 05:42, 5 January 2008 (UTC)
I found it and commented there. I'm not trying to be a dick, but I am pretty sure that the request wasn't proffered as anything but a ploy to evade notice. Would it be a problem for you rescind the name change, or at least keep him on your watchlist for a bit? If he continues to vandalize, further actions can be taken. - Arcayne (cast a spell) 05:55, 5 January 2008 (UTC)
