[edit] Edit summaries when reverting

Thank you for reverting 83.217.166.232's edit to Social network. I also followed up on that IP after seeing it listed on ViP. It would be appreciated, though, if you would mention "revert" or "rv" in the edit summary when reverting. I had to check the diff on both your edit and his to know that you had, in fact, reverted him. Also, reverts shouldn't be marked as minor. The combination of the two causes anyone else checking up to have to take the time to check diffs, instead of saying "Oh, Andrevan took care of it already -- I can move on." Thank you. [edit] Flesh Fetish

Hi Andre. Flesh Fetish is my favourite band... it mixes a lot of different styles of the Dark tradition. Unfortunately there's no info on google. If you want to download it from me, get on soulseek and add me ( guesserit ) to your buddy list - Kafaka 15:03, 17 Aug 2004 (UTC)

[edit] Thank you

Hi, Andre: Thank you for supporting my nomination for adminship. I take your support and that of everyone else seriously, and would strive to exercise my adminship privileges judiciously and conservatively. --Sewing 01:33, 24 Aug 2004 (UTC)

Hi again, Andre: I am now officially an admin. Thanks again for your support. Yours, 山道子 (Sewing) - talk 13:56, 27 Aug 2004 (UTC)

[edit] hum. captions...

Thanks, first of all. Second of all...well, i've been to Wikipedia:Captions, but I'm not quite sure I understand it. I mean, some of the articles supposedly needing picture captions really baffled me--they have fine captions as it is. Why don't people write the captions when they upload them? -_- Lockeownzj00 21:44, 27 Aug 2004 (UTC)

[edit] Per Ipsum Regent

Hello Andrevan

This is a response to your uncertainty about the relivance of the ariticle Robert Holborn, who was one of the first of 5 skilled shipwrights ever to be recorded in the history of English shipbuilding as employed directly by a monarch, on the kings ships.

As Shipbuilding has for some time been in decline, in the UK at least, some might say this information is of little use, but to those studing the history of the shipbuilding industry it must have some value. Maybe not at wikipedia, however, I cant see why?

I have no problems with the idea of putting the page up for deletion, as I doubt very much if it could be cleaned up given the lack of other information about this man. It is intersting to note that his family name reocours in the context of shipbuilding in almost every suceeding generation of his family right up until 1930, however, this information is not granted as public domain, at least not by me.

I see no bias or errors of a factal nature in the item, and so wonder, perhaps if you might enlighten me as to why you think it unsuitable for an encylopedia? - given the facts presented in my argument for placing it in the first place, in the context of the family of shipwrights named Pett, with who he was associate?

Please feel free to reply on my talk page, all the best Faedra 13:54, 12 Sep 2004 (UTC).

Perhaps the data could be merged with another page? - Like I say, I dont mind, the intention of my initial efforts are to inform, not to worry so much about the relivence to everyone, about everything I offer, given the universal nature of wikipedia.

Replied on your talk page. Andre 16:42, 12 Sep 2004 (UTC)

Dear Andrevan:

Ref Robert Holborn: Cheers for reply. I decided you were right anyway and merged part of the item with the page on Shipbuilding, as it is more general and my item is after all more bout the early origins of the shipright rather than the named individual. However I see it has been listed for clean up, this might be difficult, so I myself will not hurry into it, rather consider adding more to the page on shipbuilding.

If anyone has new info on Robert I would be delighted to read it however. He was from a family of shipwrights from Eirth (Kent/London), and has been cited in at least two books I have read on the subject.

Cheers anyway Faedra 12:53, 13 Sep 2004 (UTC)
