Internet Estate Realty is a popular buzzword that has two different definitions.

First, Internet estate realty can be used to describe the use of the Internet to promote, advertise, and view commercial and residential real estate for lease or purchase. Many real estate agents promote their properties on the Internet to remain competitive in the marketplace. Also, consumers also find the Internet to be a great tool to research properties on websites like Realtor.com, Fizber.com and Rent.com.

Second, Internet real estate has been used to describe revenue-generating online properties such as domain names or websites. Just like the now obsolete term Information Superhighway, "Internet Estate Realty" or "Internet Real Estate" is used in this context primarily when communicating with individuals who either did not grow up with the Internet or who are not involved in the tech industry. These individuals can benefit from drawing a comparison with the established offline concept of real estate to better understand digital business assets.
