[edit] Terrible bio
Where is the info on his first bit of fame on IFILM ????? This wiki info is about SNL.
- It wasn't solely on iFilm. And that's covered on Lonely Island. Because Saturday Night Live is much more important career-wise. -- Viewdrix 03:49, 2 December 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Sandwich Discussion
What is the deal with the good sandwich comment? Is that remotely factual or relevant? Zookman12 22:41, 19 December 2005 (UTC)

In Awesometown, the FOX Pilot he was in, there is a gag in the opening song where he says he humourously sings "he likes a good sandwich" :)

The sandwich thing kind of became a running gag for him. He raps about it in episode 8 of The 'Bu, similarly in the opening to Awesometown, and it is mentioned again in the SNL Digital Short called Doppelganger.
- Less of a running joke and more of them referencing The 'Bu/Awesometown on SNL. The song from The 'Bu 8 and the Awesometown theme were basically the same. If they threw it into a completely different song before they did SNL, it'd be more of a running joke. -- Viewdrix 17:55, 1 November 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Adding Info
My reason for putting David letterman apperance on this page (and then seeing later it was deleted) was to give viewers information about andy. They might have tivo'd david letterman everynight but wondering which one to watch, they could see that andy was on it. Also information is information, maybe it shouldent have gone under trivia, but under a new category titled, "Apperances". Btw on letterman he told a story about Jack Bauer (the guy from 24 (television)) showing up in one of there shot's for a lonlyisland video. If people knew he was on letterman, and then watch it more people could contribute to information here on Andy Samberg at wikipedi. -Swerty 20:35, 26 January 2006 (UTC)
- The chances of someone having TiVoed every Letterman episode looking for Andy Samberg and coming to wikiepdia to see which one to watch is pretty remote. There are what, 10 talk shows that have celebrity appearances every day (sometimes 3 celebrities per show), some 200+ days a year? Are we going to document who appeared on each and every one? No, we're not. Samberg shouldn't be an exception. It just isn't encyclopedic information. Wikipedia is not a TiVo helper. -R. fiend 20:44, 26 January 2006 (UTC)

- ok, i agree about the tivo. but let's say if someone is a fan of Andy then they might like to try to find that episode of letterman on google video or youtube. that is more likely. I think it's very important that it be included in this page b/c andy is what i feel a "rising Celebrity" and so he will be on more and more talk shows/ and make more guest apperances. are we going to ignore all these? I feel Information should be vast even though it may be small. "Information is Information". am i totally wrong on this? come on dude. Fans of andy are going to come here and will find a way to watch that letterman episode! It seams theres a problem with the fact that the information is such a suddle detail, but it's not like andy's page is overflowing with information, right? let's make it bigger and start with this information about david letterman. Let's make a compromise my friend! - Swerty 02:00, 27 January 2006 (UTC)

- If a fan of Mr. Samberg is so concerned about tv appearances that he or she turns to Wikipedia for guidance, they would probably be better off using a tv listing website. And if they do turn to YouTube, the performance will be up there to find with a simple "Andy Samberg" search on that particular site.

-
- I also understand that many people are avid fans of Andy, but they would probably be better off doing a generic web search for a Andy Samberg fan site or perhaps use the Lonely Island site itself. Trying force wikipedia into filling that role is hardly encyclopedic.--sigmafactor 03:56, 27 January 2006 (UTC)

- [edit conflict] Here's the thing, you seem to be arguing that because Samberg has had few appearances on talk shows, those that he has had are worthy of note. So once he gets too many to bother keeping track of, they will all be removed. I mean, certainly at one point Tom Cruise had few enough talk show appearances that his first one with Carson or whoever would have been worthy of mention in his article, but at this point giving each one mention would be just silly (except those that are actually notable, like his Lauer interview or his jumping Oprah's couch, but those are the exceptions rather than the rule). So with Samberg we'd just be adding info that we know will be removed eventually anyway, which, in my mind, is not the way to go. We should be building articles that have information that will remain significant, as much as possible. A single talk show appearance certainly will not. There are external links we can provide that will have all such information that is worthy of an entertainment site that is just not what goes in an encycloepdia. Out imdb link has his appearance; people can find it (and will find all subsequent ones) there. Wikipedia just is not the imdb. -R. fiend 04:08, 27 January 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Andy's Birthday
I'm not going to spend time editing Andy's page, but someone could add his birthday if they have time. On the first TLI podcast (from last Thursday) they revealed that is birthday is August 18th...
[edit] Trivia Clarification
- "In the first episode entitled "White Power" there is a scene where the 3 characters mug an old lady. During filming of the scene, actor Kiefer Sutherland was driving by. Thinking the mugging was real he pulled over in an attempt to help only to later realize he had interrupted the filming."
The first episode of what? Ozmodiar.x 05:53, 3 December 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Joe Samberg Photography
How do we know for sure that Joe Samberg is Andy's father? is there a source for this?
[edit] Family
I have removed the overly detailed family info a couple of times now. Please review WP:BLP before replacing any of this material. This type of info should only be added where it is relevant to the notability of the subject. Kevin 21:56, 12 July 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Natalie Portman
OK, I know this isn't "People" or VH1, but I had heard that he is dating Natalie Portman... is this true? It's surely plausable due to the Skit they did togrther a few years back. However if it's not in the article it's probably a rumor. - ummmmmmmmmm, I don't have a Wikipedia name, so How do I get one to "sign comments"?
