[edit] merger

obvious reasons really - there doesn't seem much point in this article given that it only talks about Arctic Monkeys. DJR (T) 10:47, 11 June 2006 (UTC)

No way, I made that thread, it is my baby, don't do it! —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 152.78.254.243 (talkcontribs) 08:11, 12 June 2006.
Wikipedia doesn't work like that - the whole point in a wiki is that it is a collaborative project - nothing is "my thread" - everything is free to be editted by anyone. You are free to edit this article if you want, but I cannot see the point in an article that simply regurgitates content that already exists elsewhere. DJR (T) 10:29, 12 June 2006 (UTC)
This is one of the biggest wastes of space on WP. Each member should have a separate article, and this one should be deleted. Duke toaster 20:25, 23 June 2006 (UTC)
There's no point having a separate article for each member when there is not enough information to justify it. There is too much text to put it in the main Arctic Monkeys article, and once there is enough information to justify splitting up into individual pages, it will be done. However, at the moment there clearly is not. DJR (talk) 13:30, 24 June 2006 (UTC)

Yeah, it's too big to be merged, maybe in the Arctic Monkeys arcticle it can include a couple sentences about each member, if they don't already have some. Tspydr10 13:30, 29 June 2006 (UTC)

I've seen many articles about individual band members with much less information than there is here. I agree with Duke toaster, each band member should have an individual page. 88.106.245.156 15:54, 19 June 2007 (UTC)

I think this article should be seperated considering the amount of information on all band members.

I also think that this article could be split, giving a page for each band member. Eric Wester 16:04, 27 August 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Instruments

Alex Turner plays a black Strat, not white. Also, can anyone identify Andy Nicholson's bass? I'm pretty sure it's a Gibson, but I can't recall what it's called...and if I'm not mistaken, Nirvana bassist Krist Novoselic played a similar one? EDIT: Also, I've never seen any videos or pics of him playing (I couldn't get tickets to the concert. X-D), but does anyone know what kind of bass Nick O'Mally plays? -KingUrth

He used to play a White Strat. He smashed it at the Oxygen Festival in Ireland. That's why he plays a black one now. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 203.51.40.96 (talk • contribs) 04:41, 12 October 2006.
To be honest, I really don't think any of the stuff about instruments is really that relevant. DJR (T) 11:21, 5 July 2006 (UTC)
Yeah, I guess you're right... -KingUrth
The instruments should be relevant because it's part of a band's definitive 'sound'. Also, that last bit on Cook's guitar should be changed, he's been playing a Gretsch Black Falcon now on their Australian tour. O'Mally plays something with the body of the Continental V Bass with that distinctive top handle, but with 4 strings and it's black with a polished wooden face. -Alkatyl

Turner plays both a black and a white strat. I play a Blue one :-) Owwmykneecap 19:17, 2 August 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Temporary and former members

I tagged the section on Andy Nicholson chiefly because it is only sporadically sourced and large portions of it seem to be direct copy and pastes from news articles. Winkymcgee 20:45, 9 August 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Intro paragraph

Could someone write an intro paragraph for this article. So that when we say "band's lead vocalist", people would know what band we're talking about. kollision 12:34, 18 August 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Split 'Alex Turner (musician)'

Whilst the other band members may not justify their own articles quite yet, Alex Turner definitely does. After all, he was (rather idiotically) named the 'coolest man on the planet' by NME. If the coolest man on the planet doesn't deserve his own article, I don't know which musician does. There's already a two paragraph section, which could easily be expanded in the context of a separate article, with more biographical details, an infobox ({{Infobox musical artist}}), and a picture. Bastin 04:34, 24 January 2007 (UTC)

I concur... although there is a fair amount of content available about the other band members too. But yeah, I support a split. DJR (T) 13:41, 24 January 2007 (UTC)
I agree. About the amount of info, that's a mispoint. Just 'cause someone doesn't know about Alex, it doesn't mean there are no info enought to make an split article.Prss 14:19, 4 February 2007 (UTC)
I think Jamie Cook´s page should also bve split now as I have added his Gear setup to the old stub--Mr.Pig 02:38, 8 August 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Error

It's says Jamie "Cookie" Cook was born in 1995, if it was that case he would be twelve and a veeeery talented twelve year old, but that's impossible, he was born in 1985 !! please correct it !! thanks, I always search on wikipedia and it's fantastci , thanks for the great work, keep it up !! xxxxxxxx Lia88.16.237.28 13:19, 19 February 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Splitting the page

Don't these guys deserve their own page?! I think they do, so unless anyone comments against it, i will make this article into two!! Gaia Octavia Agrippa (talk) 17:27, 29 December 2007 (UTC)

If i am going to make some new articles it would be great if people could improve this page first. For example adding details about their instruments, where they live, when they where born etc. Gaia Octavia Agrippa (talk) 17:31, 29 December 2007 (UTC)
