[edit] "Friends" of Mickel

Whoever keeps editting this article and adding your own personal ideas on and saying that you have known Mickel, that is fine, but you must realize that without any evidence supporting these claims I must remain skeptical. I also find it odd how you are more than willing to chime in about various stuff in the article, but do not correct Mickel's year of birth, or add anything that was previously unknown. Also, you keep insisting that the Unabomber quote was either wrong or misquoted. I admit, I have only read a few articles on Mickel, but the articles I have read, including one by the Associated Press that was in my local newspaper said that his parents referred to him as the Unabomber. If you would like to dispute that, please do so here, in the talk section, and further explain your argument. This is not meant to be in the article. I will be reverting previous changes made until we can sort this out.

[edit] POV and statement from "friend"

Removed the following paragraph since it is unsourced POV:

With Mickel's Proud and Insolent Youth Inc., Mickel may have hoped to start a revolution within the United States. He has frequently called upon citizens to stand up and act out against the police, U.S. government, and corporations. He seemed to have failed to see the futility of killing a random and easy-target police officer for his cause and then bragging about it. He has been referred to as "the left wing version of Timothy McVeigh".

The end of the article contained a statement from someone claiming to be Mickels friend:

It is true that Andy Mickel's parents consulted David Kacynski about how to deal with their son's crime, but they were misquoted in the Washington Post story by William Booth. They never said he had "Gone Kacynski." They do believe Andy is wrong and mentally ill, but they don't think he is just like Ted Kacynski.
- Ben Poston, a childhood friend of Andy Mickel. (quoted in the Wash. Post story)

[edit] Fair use rationale for Image:Mickel.PNG

Image:Mickel.PNG is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.
