[edit] Comment by Angry mob mulls options

Nothing in the "match fixing" article really implicates either Johns, more like just gossip, and the NRL seems not to have taken it any further. http://www.smh.com.au/articles/2006/06/09/1149815319189.html

Ergo, removed. --Angry mob mulls options 09:41, 2 August 2006 (UTC)

Can someone add in some details of his personal life - wife, kids etc?

[edit] Barge Arse

Johns is a barge arse
POMS TAKE TO BARGE

who says that joey weighs 130 kgs?

[edit] Photo

I can't believe this article is relying on a disputed fair use image. Does nobody go to Newcastle Knights games, or the NRL Footy Show?Garrie 00:27, 4 April 2007 (UTC)

[edit] The Greatest

Can I add to this article that Joey is the greatest league player in the world? I can reference the ninemsn article that says, "A serious neck injury has forced the greatest rugby league player in the world, Andrew Johns, to leave the game." Wow. They could at least have used the word "arguably". Though if it was written by a "Mexican" - which it probably was - I'm surprised they didn't use the word "ever". --Grinning Idiot 11:09, 10 April 2007 (UTC)

Hey, you can cite it - include it - it will be better than all the unsourced rubbish added to this and other NRL related articles.Garrie 22:24, 11 April 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Jarrod Mullen

Shouldn't something be said about his tutoring of the Blues half-back. Londo06 01:01, 17 May 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Events after retirement

I think the ARU have severed ties with joey since he was arrested. This was mentioned on television news segments covering his arrest.Garrie 22:50, 30 August 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Current Event reinstated

There is still a hell of a lot of fall-out from the arrest, and the subsequent announcements. Londo06 17:42, 2 September 2007 (UTC)

Looks there's an editor who's decided it's all blown over and Australian Rugby League is fine, Andrew Johns is a saint again and that he shouldn't be filthy with himself. Apparently there's a turd in the punchbowl and we should all just ignore it. Alexsanderson83 08:26, 6 September 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Shouldn't this article mention

The humourous skit dedicated to him on the Chaser's War on Everything? (Where's my E?) —Preceding unsigned comment added by 58.107.158.121 (talk) 11:17, 6 September 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Early Days Section

I've removed the first part of that section due to a complaint about it being defamatory. Let's not slap anything on here without sourcing it, okay? Big brother is watching this article, after all. Pilotguy 23:42, 9 September 2007 (UTC)

OTRS requests must be taken seriously. Although I must say that the section removed seems somewhat innocuous. Some of the other material on this page would be more worrying. Oh well. Recurring dreams 23:49, 9 September 2007 (UTC)
I must agree with Recurring dreams. Are you sure you removed the right paragraph? It stated the city of his birth; his father's name, occupation and rugby league history; and that even at a young age he showed great potential. Hardly defamatory. -- Ianblair23 (talk) 00:17, 10 September 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Kurri and Cessnock

Did he really begin his junior football " in Cessnock, playing for Kurri Kurri.." . If he played for Kurri Kurri then wasn't he playing in Kurri Kurri ? -Sticks66 13:04, 14 February 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Weasels

"Many past & present members of the rugby league community were split on the issue of his admission to drug use. Yet in the end many stuck by Johns given his admission & discussion of his depression & anxiety while playing professional football at the highest level."

Says who ? How were they split ? How did they stick by him ? Were they many ? Says who ? And what is a "past member of the rugby league community" anyway other than a dead fan ? These weasel words drive me crazy. -Sticks66
