[edit] Incorrect date of death
Hi. I am horrified to learn that most or all of the obituaries published regarding Cruickshank's date of passing are incorrect. I can only think that they are based on a central pool of information which national and local newspapers refer to when compiling their notices for publication. I say this because, original research or not, I have been in contact with the only source I can find who claims his date of death as April 29, 1988, whereas the previous accepted date was April 28, 1988. I sent an email to Julian Grainger, Filmographic Unit Manager at The British Film Institute, querying their use of a date at odds with all others. His reply was thus:
From: Julian Grainger

Dear Mr Xxxxxxx,
A check of Mr Cruickshank's will at First Avenue House in High Holborn confirms his date of death as the 29 April as per our database. You may wish to update your records and the Wikipedia piece to reflect this.
Best wishes,

I have therefore changed the article to reflect this, as I am aware that biographies must be truthful, and cannot let a lie be told. I have therefore introduced the BFI source as the reference for his date of death. I am willing to send a copy of the full exchange of emails to those who wish to receive it. Thanks.
