[edit] GA on hold: Notes for fixes

I have reviewed this article, and placed it against the standard at WP:WIAGA. The article is well written and well referenced, but I have concern over the following issue:

  • Broadness of coverage: There is no information on personal life (outside of track and field). Young life? Parents? Wife and kids? Is there anything out there to help flesh out this part of the article?

If we can get some more info on life outside of Javelin Throwing, and if it can be referenced as well as the rest of the article, I see no reason NOT to pass this as a GA. This hold will remain in place for 7 days. If the fixes cannot be made within that time period, it will be failed and have to be renominated. If you have any questions, or if you want to have me review it again after changes are made, please drop a note at my talk page. --Jayron32|talk|contribs 02:12, 7 April 2007 (UTC)

  • Well, his personal life is closely tied to athletics, it seems: Both parents are retired athletes, his current girlfriend is an active hurdler. He does not have a wife or kids. I'll see what I can do, but is private life really that relevant? Compare with other GA's like David Beharall. Punkmorten 15:33, 8 April 2007 (UTC)
    • Even just what you wrote here would be great. It just seemed that something was lacking in terms of completeness. If you have reliable sources that state the above, and add it, I think the article would easily be GA quality. I cannot speak to the reviews that others have done. I only feel that the requirement of broadness of coverage has not been met without some mention of his personal life. If you feel this is inappropriate, you may bring this issue up at WP:GA/R. --Jayron32|talk|contribs 17:25, 8 April 2007 (UTC)
      • What's the status here? 7 days is up...IvoShandor 03:45, 18 April 2007 (UTC)
        • Oh, I completely forgot about this! Give me one more day, please. Punkmorten 06:04, 18 April 2007 (UTC)
          • I will leave it alone for a day, can't guarantee someone else won't fail it. Make sure you contact the original reviewer to see if it met his/her concerns. Thanks IvoShandor 07:20, 18 April 2007 (UTC)
            • I added a section named "personal life". Is the article pass-worthy now? Punkmorten 09:53, 19 April 2007 (UTC)
              • OOPS! Sorry I forgot about this one. The new section is all I was looking for really. This one seems more than adequate. I will Pass the article as a GA now!--Jayron32|talk|contribs 16:31, 19 April 2007 (UTC)
