[edit] Translation
I removed the translation notice from the article since it's been proofread (thanks Jrbbopp!), but I'm putting it here in case anyone else would like to help. You can never have too many proofreaders! Trevor 06:21, 7 January 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Translation questions
The last line of the second section was hard to translate. I rendered it:
- When not a direct source he appears to draw from the works of one Gonzalo Fernández de Oviedo.
The proofreader changed that to:
- When he did not draw from a direct source, he appears to draw from the works of one Gonzalo Fernández de Oviedo.
For reference, a literal translation might be:
- In the sense it is not direct source it is as if it's the work of Gonzalo Fernandez of Oviedo.
The sense I drew from the original was that Laguna himself was the direct source referred to: he wasn't drawing from another source. Is there a better way to phrase that? Trevor 21:51, 8 January 2007 (UTC)
