Did the Citroen family use the diacritic or not? --SFoskett 12:59, Apr 19, 2005 (UTC)

That I am actually not sure of, but using an educated guess I would say no. --AyrtonSenna 18:02; May 5, 2005 (EST)

'Citroen' means lemon in Dutch, whereas 'Citroën' doesn't have a meaning. Since it's a Dutch family, I guess they didn't use the diacritic. --21:33, 14 November 2006 (UTC)

One of André's grandfathers was a market merchant selling lemons, he was called "limoenman" (lemmonman) and later took the name Citroen, another Dutch word for 'limoen'. Even today, the telephone directory lists several people named Citroen in Amsterdam. 217.121.157.116 19:18, 14 March 2007 (UTC)
