If it wasnt clear, I removed the tag because I decline to delete it as an admin on checking the speedies, and gave a reason in the edit summary. Having been deleted by speedy before is not a reason for deletion. I think there was a weak assertion of notability, but that it was insufficient. Speedy can not be used if there is an assertion of notability, even if the notability is most likely not enough to establish an article. Previous admin have apparently disagreed, but I also felt that considering it has been re-created twice, the thing to do is to take it to AFD, where it will most likely be deleted, and then further attempts at insertion can be removed by G4, or even by salting the page if necessary.

Please just proceed with the afd nomination. DGG (talk) 19:28, 31 July 2007 (UTC)

[edit] comment from Karen Kantor

I am a French Canadian scholar specialised on contemporary arts and on new artistic practices. I decided to add contributions to Wikipedia about important avant-garde artists working with sounds such as André Éric Létourneau, El Gruppo Zaj, Jean Dupuy and may others. I am a curator and I am in contact with many of these artists. Two weeks ago, I encouraged Mr Letourneau to post an article on Wikipedia. He then sent me an email to tell me his article have been delited. I then managed to translate the article I already wrote about him in French for Wikipedia and I sent it to the English Wikipedia(with minor changes). You may have to consider that the article I sent you is a translation of the article I wrote in French for the French Wikipedia. This article have been there for already two years and have been useful to many French speaking users of Wikipedia and to scholars around the world.

You can check the notability of this artist by looking in the Web (most of his work have been done in Europe and Asia, so most of the references are not in English). However, there are also many books mentionning Mr. Letourneau's work. On the Web, you can find proofs on what I mentionned in the article by looking at the site of the CBC (Canadian Broadcasting Corporation, the National National Funded State Radio which is for Canada what the BBC is for England). Their Web site published interviews conducted by Mr Letourneau: http://www.radio-canada.ca/radio/navire/rencontres.html Some theorical text by Mr Letourneau are also on the CBC Web site at at http://www.radio-canada.ca/radio/navire/texte-pdf/standard3.l%E9tourneau.pdf and http://www.radio-canada.ca/radio/navire/texte-pdf/standard3.gauthier.pdf

I will include a list of book reference about his works at the end od the article about him.

Regards,

Karen Kantor
