Description
English: Drawing of Andrias scheuchzeri (an extinct giant salamander) by Swiss naturalist Johann Jakob Scheuchzer (1672-1733). Scheuchzer interpreted the fossil as a man drowned in the biblical Deluge, he saw it as prove for floodgeology. The fossil was later recognized for what it is by Georges Cuvier.
