Andy Van Hekken (b. July 31, 1979 in Holland, Michigan) Attended Lakeview Elementary School and later Holland High School. Drafted by the Seattle Mariners in the third round of the 1998 amateur draft. In 1999, he was traded to the Detroit Tigers and made his major league debut in September of 2002. In his first major league appearance he threw a complete game shutout against the Cleveland Indians. Van Hekken played several years in the US minor leagues, largely with Somerset and moved to Taiwan at the end of 2007.
