Andy Thomson (Scottish footballer)

Andrew "Andy" Thomson (born Motherwell, April 1, 1971) is a Scottish football (soccer) player, currently playing for Stenhousemuir. He has played over 600 matches and scored over 200 goals to date in a career which has also seen him play for Queen of the South, Partick Thistle and Falkirk in Scotland and for Southend United, Oxford United, Gillingham and Queens Park Rangers in England.[1]

In 2000 Thomson scored the winning goal for Gillingham in the Football League Second Division play-off final at Wembley Stadium to ensure the Kent club's first ever promotion to the second tier of English football.[2]

He returned to Scotland and played for Falkirk, Partick Thistle and then moved to Queen of the South. When he left the Dumfries club a second time he had made a total of 230 appearances and scored 114 goals.
