Andrew Thomas "Andy" Lee (born May 24, 1981) is an Australian comedian.
[edit] Biography
Andy attended Balwyn Primary School and graduated from Camberwell Grammar School in 1999 where he was Captain of Music and Sport, then went on to study Commerce at the University of Melbourne where he met comedic partner Hamish Blake. Together, they hosted the short lived comedy program Hamish & Andy on Australia's Seven Network.
Before this, Andy appeared with Hamish, Ryan Shelton and Duncan Campbell on Channel 31's Radio Karate, and had various spots on the radio stations FOX FM and SYN Radio. Currently he is a regular on ABC music trivia program Spicks and Specks and shares the Today networks Drive Time program with Hamish Blake. Andy also appeared on the Channel 10 program Australia's Brainiest Comedian, becoming the first person ever to not answer any questions correctly in a round (TV), and with Hamish Blake has developed a new television program named Real Stories, which satirises other Australian news shows such as A Current Affair. This is made under the guidance of Rove McManus.
Andy also won the first series of Joker Poker, a Network Ten production which pits four comedians up against each other in a tournament game of No Limit Texas Hold 'Em Poker for charity.
He is also a founding member of Melbourne band Zoophyte, along with his brother Cameron Lee. Andy has had to retire from the band due to other commitments, but is a guest at some gigs.
Andy released an educational times table CD in 2003 called, "The Sing Along Times Table CD Book". The CD was re-discovered in 2005/2006 after an "alert listener" informed Hamish Blake, and teased Andy about it on their radio show. Andy also informs us of a Camberwell Grammar sprayjacket which was his 15th birthday present.
Andy is currently dating supermodel Megan Gale and the two appeared together on Rove Live also.
Andy is also friends with Ed Kavalee, one of the co-hosts of Triple M's Get This program which was cancelled at the end of it's 2007 run. Because they were on rival radio networks, when ever Ed mentioned him on air he referred to him as Mr. X
In 2006 he was named Cleo Bachelor of the year, [1] which Hamish delights in labeling a 'glamour quest', a term coined by his grandmother Moosie.
Andy now has a regular spot on Rove Live with Hamish Blake, appearing every second week.
In his younger years he was involved in the scouting movement at 1st Canterbury Scout Group and was also part of Camberwell Showtime.
He also played hockey for the Camberwell Hockey Club, at a high level.
