On June 26, 2007, Jones prepared a news report that led with the story of Paris Hilton's release from jail. This resulted in a well-known incident in which Mika Brzezinski refused to read the Hilton story. Jones continued to insist that Brzezinski open with the story. "My producer Andy Jones is not listening to me. He's put it (the Hilton story) as the lead."[2]
