Andrew William Burrows (born 30 June 1979, Winchester, England) is the current drummer for Razorlight. He joined the band in May 2004.
He was discovered in open auditions to replace Christian Smith Pancorvo, the original drummer for the band, who left in early 2004. Since he joined Razorlight, the group have released two albums, Up All Night which reached #3 in the UK Albums Chart (although Burrows does not perform on the record); and Razorlight which debuted at #1 in the UK chart.
His first performance with Razorlight was at London's Bull and Gate on 25 May 2004.
Burrows has been a key figure in shaping Razorlight's sound and songs, having written the hits "America" and co-written "Before I Fall to Pieces" with Johnny Borrell.
He has recently recorded a solo album, which is due for release later this year. Profits from the sales of the album will go to a children's charity in his home town of Winchester. He sings and plays all the instruments on the LP, and recorded the album in his bedroom using PC software programmes while waiting for Razorlight to start recording their third full length album.
Andy Burrows releases his album, 'The Colour of my Dreams', on May 26. The album will be released to raise awareness and funds for the "Jack's Place" Appeal at Naomi House.
'The Colour of my Dreams' was written and recorded at home by Andy during the recent Razorlight downtime, after he stumbled cross a book of poems by an old family friend and set about putting them to music. Using just 'Garageband' he began work in his flat and the convergence of the childs-eye view poems and Andy's lo-fi acoustic guitar approach came together beautifully.
Andrew first began his musical career in the Hampshire County Youth Band.
