Andy Bellatti

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Andy Bellatti (born May 29, 1982 in Buenos Aires, Argentina) was a New York City-based entertainment correspondent for Argentina's #1 Top 40 station, FM HIT. Throughout his 2 years with the station, his live biweekly column gained him many fans and an official fanclub.

His column often broke celebrity news and gossip days -- sometimes weeks -- before they hit the Argentine press. Andy also covered prestigious music events like the 2003 MTV Video Music Awards, several high-profile press conferences, and interviewed some of Latin music's heaviest hitters one-on-one.

Many of Andy's listeners remember his infamous blind items, which hinted at big-time celebrities who secretly indulged in drugs, cheated on their significant others, and behaved inappropriately. Andy resigned in December of 2003 due to other commitments, although he later covered Juanes' 2005 Madison Square Garden concert, being the only Latin American journalist allowed to interview the Colombian superstar backstage.

On the last FM HIT year-end Top 40 chart of 2002 and 2003, he was an in-studio guest columnist. He is now the official "godfather" of FM HIT's official online fan club.

As of March 2006, Andy was still living in New York City and pursuing a master's degree in nutrition.
