Andrey Melnichenko

Andrey Melnichenko (Russian: Андрей Мельниченко, Belarusian: Андрэй Мельнічэнка, born on March 8, 1972 in Gomel, Belarus) is a Russian businessman and billionaire.

He is best-known for his energy and banking businesses.

Andrey is worth £4.6 billion, and is currently the 172nd richest person on the planet according to Forbes.

Andrey received a degree in Finance from the Plekhanov Institute with a specialisation in Finance and Credit.

In 1993, Mr Melnichenko became a founder of MDM Bank, where he held various senior managerial positions, eventually becoming the bank’s President from 1997—2001, and Chairman of the Board from 2001—2005.

Mr Melnichenko is an investor in a number of leading Russian industrial companies including:

OJSC Siberian coal energy company SUEK — Russia’s largest, and one of the world’s top ten, coal producers

CJSC mineral chemical company Eurochem — Russia’s largest vertically integrated producer of mineral fertilizers
