Career highlights

Andrew Welsh (born 11 February 1983) is an Australian rules footballer in the Australian Football League.

Andrew currently lives with team mate, Angus Monfries, in Melbourne Australia. He was picked up at Draft Pick Number 47 in the 2001 AFL Draft. He is a backline player who has played halfback or back pocket for much of his career. He is a very quick player and runs off half back very well. A knee injury in 2005 sidetracked his career a little, but he has made a strong comeback in defence during 2006. In 2007 and 2008 his role changed, and he played primarily as a defensive forward.

He is a keen surfer and has said if he weren't a footballer, he would be a professional wakeboarder or surfer. Andrew also has a cousin called Nathan who has scholarship with the bombers and looks set to play for them when he grows older. Many believe they also look the same
