Andrew Regan (born 14 December 1965 in Manchester, England) is a British entrepreneur. He is the chief executive officer of Corvus Capital Inc.

Andrew Regan was born into a Manchester family, but he now lives in Geneva, Switzerland.[1] He is divorced and has six children.[2]

[edit] Hobson
Regan originally built a household products business which was sold to Hobson plc in 1991.[1] Following the sale, he became Chief Executive of Hobson, which was listed on the London Stock Exchange. In 1994 Hobson acquired the food and drinks manufacturing portion of Co-operative Wholesale Society. After enlarging the operation, Hobson sold this unit in 1996, for £154 million, to Hillsdown Holdings through a recommended takeover.[1]
[edit] Co-operative Wholesale Society (CWS)
In 1997 Regan led an attempt, to gain control of the CWS in a £1.2 billion take-over bid which was rejected. In the early months of 1997, CWS performed an internal investigation into the activities of two senior CWS executives and their dealings with Regan.[3] As part of its bid defence, CWS suggested that Regan had acted inappropriately and this led to him being accused of the theft of £2.4 million in order to bribe the two CWS executives.[3] In April of 1997, an official investigation by the was opened by the Serious Fraud Office (SFO) and a trial ordered. With no verdict being reached in the 2001 trial, a retrial was ordered and in 2003 Regan was acquitted and was awarded his defence costs reported to be £2 million.[4]

Regan has been the chief executive officer of Corvus Capital Inc since September 2004. Corvus is an international investment company listed in the UK on the London Stock Exchange’s Alternative Investment Market (AIM)[1]
In 2005, Corvus Capital invested in Commoditrade becoming a major shareholder. [5].
[edit] Polar traveller
Regan is an experienced Polar traveller and has been to both the North Pole and the South Pole.[6] He was involved in the 2005 Ice Challenger expedition, a world record attempt for the fastest overland crossing to the South Pole.[7] The six man Ice Challenger team completed the 1,200 km route in 69 hours, breaking the previous world record of 24 days (576 hours).[6] The expedition was aimed at increasing awareness of global warming. The entire team wanted to highlight the impact of climate change on the Antarctic to the rest of the world.[7]
