Andrew Moskos

Andrew Moskos, an American producer, director and writer, he is one of the original founders of the successful comedy-theater Boom Chicago in Amsterdam. These days he produces and develops show concepts including Boom Chicago Saves the World (Sorry about the Mess), Live at the Leidseplein: Your Privacy is our Business, Europe: We've Created a Monster, Ironic Yanks, and Me MySpace and iPod.

Andrew Moskos was born in Chicago and raised in Evanston, Il, the son of Ilca, a foreign language teacher and Northwestern University professor Charles Moskos[1], he is of Greek-American and German descent. He has one brother, Peter Moskos, a professor at John Jay College of Criminal Justice. Andrew is a graduate of Northwestern University. He is married to Saskia Maas, a native Dutchwoman, also a partner of Boom Chicago. Moskos and Maas have two boys, Finn and Aidan. Andrew also enjoys cities and would like to run for Mayor of Amsterdam, even though it is an unelected political office.

Andrew worked in various Chicago movie theaters including the now shuttered Evanston and Fine Arts Theaters. From 1990-1993 he worked as the Director of Education projects at Chicago United a private non-profit advocacy organization.

He and his childhood chums, Americans Ken Schaefle and Jon Rosenfeld, were the original founders of Boom Chicago. Moskos starred in Boom's productions from 1993-2000. He directed Jon Rosenfeld and Greg Shapiro's Going Down: A Comedy Show about Pessimism, the critically acclaimed Mr. America Contest about the Bush-Kerry election of 2004, and Kick This: A World Cup Comedy with Balls in 2006.

Andrew led the team that created Boom Chicago Video Productions in 2004 after the world-wide hit Florida Voting Machine where a John Kerry supporter accidentally votes for George Bush at an electronic voting booth.

Today BCVP makes comedy video for broadcast, broadband and mobile. They make the popular CCN, which is one of the highest rated shows on Comedy Central Netherlands.¹ They also make content for distribution channels like MTV, Joost, FremantleMedia, MSN, Sprint Mobile, T-Mobile, and 3 and corporate clients like Microsoft, Mentos and Heineken. 2006's daily video column, The Unlikely Fan, about the 2006 World Cup starring Brendan Hunt was seen by almost 1,000,000 people. Andrew is also end responsible for Boom Chicago's marketing, sales and operations.
