Andrew Ladd (born December 12, 1985 in Maple Ridge, British Columbia) is a professional Canadian ice hockey player who plays for the Chicago Blackhawks of the National Hockey League.

[edit] Playing career
Ladd began in the BCHL with the Coquitlam Express. He then progressed to the WHL with the Calgary Hitmen after being traded from the Vancouver Giants for Jamison Orr. He ended the season as the leading rookie scorer of the WHL with 75 points, and finished 15th in the league in scoring. He also played for Canada at the 2005 World Juniors, where he helped Canada win the gold medal. Ladd was a first round pick, 4th overall by the Hurricanes in the 2004 NHL Entry Draft.
Ladd began the 2005–06 season with the Lowell Lock Monsters of the AHL. He was recalled to the Hurricanes in November but soon suffered from a knee injury in December which sidelined him through February. Ladd was assigned back to the Lowell Lock Monsters until March when he stayed with the Carolina Hurricanes throughout the playoff season. He won his first Stanley Cup with the team.
Ladd underwent an emergency appendectomy on December 14th, 2006.
On February 26th, 2008, the Carolina Hurricanes traded Andrew Ladd to the Chicago Blackhawks for Tuomo Ruutu.
