Andrew Alleyne

Andrew Alleyne (born November 13, 1968 in Barbados) is a professional basketball player with a notable career in the British Basketball League, where he most recently starred for the Leicester Riders.
The 6ft8 Forward arrived in England in 2000 after signing for Milton Keynes Lions, following a stint at Centro Basket of the Dominican Republic. Within his first season, he had already earned a place in the All-Star Game for 2001, and for the following season in 2002, the same season in which he lead Milton Keynes to the BBL Trophy final, eventually losing 89-90 to Chester Jets.
After three years with the Lions, he moved down to the South Coast to sign for Brighton Bears and join in their European exploits durng the 2003-2004 season in the ULEB Cup. Alleyne spent three years with the Bears, before moving to Leicester Riders for one season, in 2006. Having not been resigned for the 2007-2008 season, Alleyne has since been linked with a move to BBL rookies London Capital, who is coached by his former team-mate Steve Bucknall.
Also a Barbadian international, Alleyne has a Bronze and a Gold Caribbean Games medal in collection of honours.
