Andrew Agnew (b. Andrew "Andy" William Agnew on 28 September 1974) is a Scottish actor. He is best known for playing the role of PC Plum in the Bafta award-winning BBC children's programme Balamory.
Agnew has lived in Elderslie most of his life with a few years living in Glasgow while struggling to find work and graduating from Langside College. He started off performing on stage in musical dramatic groups including Johnstone Phoenix Theatre Group and St. Pauls Church drama club.
His television career began in a BBC2 show called Fran's People where he was the character of the Muted Chef. He then got his big break, cast as the police officer, PC Plum in CBeebies' Balamory. With a cast including Julie Wilson Nimmo, Miles Jupp, Juliet Cadzow and Kim Tserkezie, as well as many other now familiar faces, the series developed a devoted audience of pre-school children as well as some older viewers.
Following the decision to stop filming Balamory, Agnew moved into directing for the first time, in a new children's television programme called Me Too.
He returned to the role of PC Plum in special CBeebies versions of the seasonal nature programmes Springwatch and Autumnwatch. The character also appeared in continuity announcements during the series' run.
He has appeared in 2 Balamory Live shows and has just completed another arena tour in Cbeebies Live Fantasy Circus.
He appeared alongside Su Pollard in Snow White at the Malvern Theatre over 2007 Christmas panto season.
