Andregota Galíndez
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Andregota Galíndez was Countess of Aragón from 922, being daughter of Count Galindo II Aznárez by his second wife, Sancha Garcés of Pamplona. She married García Sánchez I, king of Pamplona. After her marriage, Aragón was added to the kingdom of Pamplona, until the later split that created the Kingdom of Aragón and the kingdom of Navarre. García, who was her first cousin, divorced Andregota due to consanguinity, and remarried. It has been suggested that Andregota remarried and had further children, although the details have not been discovered. Andregota, wife of 11th century count Sancho Maceratiz, calls herself a descendant of Andregota Galíndez, although Ubieto Arteta suggests the later countess descended from Velasquita, sister of Andregota Galíndez.
