Andreas Dombret (born January 16, 1960 in the USA) is the Vice Chairman of Bank of America in Europe and Head of Germany, Austria and Switzerland since 2005.
Andreas Dombret has German as well as American citizenship.

Upon completion of his university Diplom (equivalent to a Masters degree), Andreas Dombret studied Business Administration at the Westfälische Wilhelms Universität in Münster. He earned his doctorate degree at the Friedrich-Alexander University in Erlangen-Nürnberg where he wrote his dissertation on Takeover Premiums in M&A-Transactions at the chair of Professor Dr. Wolfgang Gerke. For many years, he was a visiting lecturer at the chair for Banking and Finance and taught courses in Mergers & Acquisitions.

Since 2005, Andreas Dombret is the Vice Chairman of Bank of America in Europe as well as Head of Germany, Austria and Switzerland. Prior to joining Bank of America, Dr. Dombret was a Managing Director and the Co-Head of Rothschild Germany. Prior to this, he spent 10 years with JP Morgan in London and in Frankfurt, and was a Managing Director in the Investment Banking Division covering German clients. Andreas Dombret began his career at the headquarters of Deutsche Bank.

Andreas Dombret is a member of the Board of Trustees / Advisory Board of Center for Financial Studies at the University of Frankfurt, Konvent für Deutschland, Förderverein of Westfälische Wilhelms University of Münster, Association for Banking Apprenticeship within German Banks, Atlantikbrücke, Euroforum, as well as the Schirn Kunsthalle Frankfurt, the Frankfurt Cultural Committee and the Austrian Society for Bank-Research. Furthermore, Andreas Dombret is a member of the International Banks’ Commission within the Association of German Banks, Association for Government Relations and Corporate and Business Law of the American Chamber of Commerce in Germany and the Management Board of the Deutsche Aktieninstitut. Dr. Dombret is also the Co-Editor of the Journal “Zeitschrift für das gesamte Kreditwesen” and is a member of numerous supervisory boards.
In 2007, Dr. Dombret was awarded the Federal Cross of Merit.

Andreas Dombret sponsors the Andreas Dombret – Center for Students Initiatives (CSI) at the Westfälische Wilhelms University in Münster. Furthermore, each year, Dr. Dombret awards a graduation prize for one dissertation that combines science and practice the best.
