Andrea Zuckerman

Andrea Zuckerman Vasquez is a character in the early seasons of the Fox series Beverly Hills, 90210. She was portrayed by actress Gabrielle Carteris.

Andrea is a Jewish teenager who lives in a small apartment with her grandmother (Lainie Kazan) in order to attend West Beverly High School (her parents live out of district in a less-wealthy neighborhood). She is an overachiever whose greatest passion in high school was the West Beverly Blaze, the student newspaper. She was injured in a hit-and-run while walking home from West Beverly during the fall of her senior year. She had flirtations with Steve Sanders and particularly Brandon Walsh (she was unhappy when he had serious relationships during their time at the high school) but her own key relationships took place outside of the circle of friends.

While in college at California University, she got pregnant, married the father (Jesse Vasquez), and had a daughter, Hannah. She left CU after her sophomore year to attend Yale University, a plot decision necessitated by Carteris' decision to leave the show. Andrea made several cameo appearances in 1996, 1998, and the show's final episode in 2000. In her second appearance on the show, Andrea revealed to her friends that she and Jesse were getting a divorce.
