Andrea Ehrig-Mitscherlich, born Mitscherlich, married Schöne, Ehrig (born December 1, 1960 in Dresden, Saxony) is a former German Speed skater. She competed for East Germany. In the 1980s she became referred to as the world's best long distance speed skater.
Already at the 1976 Olympics in Innsbruck, 15 years old, she won a silver medal in the 3000 m event just one hundred of a second ahead of Lisbeth Korsmo who won bronze. Eight years later at the 1984 Olympics in Sarajevo, she won silver on both the 1000 and the 1500 m and she did become olympic champion in the 3000 metres. At the 1980 Olympics in Lake Placid she came fourth in the 3000 metres. In her fourth and final 1988 Olympics in Calgary she won two new silver medals in the long distances, and bronze medal on the 1500 metres respectively. She became European champion five times and World Champion twice in (1983 and 1985).
