Andrea Dean Van Scoyoc

Andrea Dean Van Scoyoc (born April 17, 1969 in Florida) is an American author of books in a genre she created, Horror-Sinisteria, which she defines as “creepy, macabre, sadistic” fiction “not necessarily gory, but makes shivers go up your spine.” Her stories are typically populated with vampires, zombies and other supernatural creatures, and focus on homosexual gothic themes and violent occult situations.
In addition to three published novels, Van Scoyoc has also written a book of poetry and two collections of short stories. She also publishes two magazines. Twisted Dreams is a literary horror magazine and Worlds Within-Worlds Beyond contains dark poetry.
Her book, "A Man of Two Worlds" was chosen as Preditors and Editors' Best Horror Novel of 2005.
Van Scoyoc was born and spent most of her early life in Apopka, Florida, until 1994 when she moved to the Tampa Bay, Florida area. She graduated from Apopka Senior High School in 1987.

In 2006, Van Scoyoc appeared as a character named Sin in Chris Conklin's independent horror thriller, Killer Spring Break Weekend. Andrea has also appeared in the vampire anthology Always Midnight with actor Joel D. Wynkoop.
