Andrea Capone (born 8 January 1981 in Cagliari) is an Italian football Midfielder He currently plays for Vicenza Calcio.
He wore the number 10 shirt at Cagliari. This is significant as two years previously it had been Gianfranco Zola's number and had been retired the previous season.[1]
Lazio, Palermo, Livorno, Bologna and Anderlecht have all been credited with an interest in his services, but Capone's agent insisted that Celtic have first option on the player. On July 12, 2007, it was announced that Capone had been granted a trial with Scottish outfit Celtic. [2] He has featured in a friendly 2-1 win over Peterborough United setting up a goal[3]. Two days later he got his name on the score sheet against Queen's Park Rangers of the Coca Cola Championship in another friendly as part of a 5-1 win [4].
