André Venceslau Valentim Macanga, better known as André Macanga (born 14 May 1978 in Luanda, Angola), is a part time Angolan football midfielder.
He is a member of the National team, and was called up to the 2006 World Cup. During a respectable campaign for the debutants, he was sent off for two bookings in the 0-0 draw with Mexico, in a game which saw Angola pick up its first ever World Cup point.[citation needed]
André is known in the Angola national football team, as the "defensive lung" of the team. After playing for many years in Portugal,Andre Makanga is currently based in Kuwait,playing for the local club of Al Kuwait Kaifan.
