Anderson Mall

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Anderson Mall is a regional shopping mall located in Anderson County, South Carolina. Anderson Mall opened in March 1972 with 43 stores and was expanded and remodeled in 1986 becoming the largest indoor shopping mall on ground level in South Carolina at the time. As of July, 2007 the mall is anchored by Belk, J.C. Penney, Sears.

Recently the Belk Men's & Home store closed, with the Men's store moving into the existing Women's & Kids store. The Home Store relocated to an adjacent space. These moves are in preparation for Dillard's planned demolition and construction of a new, two-story anchor store. American Eagle and Chick-fil-A are being renovated as of 2008.

This move is part of an overall mall renovation project. Bath & Body Works, Victoria's Secret, Rack Room Shoes, and Kay Jewelers have all remodeled recently.

The mall is owned and operated by Simon Property Group.
