Anda Open

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Anda Open is a tennis tournament for women held in Ramat Hasharon, a suburb of Tel Aviv, Israel. It is a Tier IV event on the WTA Tour with total prize money of $145,000 and is played on outdoor hardcourts. The tournament is named after the late wife of its chief sponsor, Henry Zimand, and organized by Israel Tennis Federation.

It was due to be held for the first time in 2006, but was cancelled because of 2006 Lebanon war, so the inaugural event should now be held on the week of October 29, 2007.

As of April 2007 the tournament announced that it will be cancelled for a further year and due to the 2009 Roadmap on the WTA Tour it looks unlikely that the tournament will ever be held.
