And Now the Legacy Begins was the debut album of the Canadian hip-hop group Dream Warriors, released worldwide on Island Records and in the United States on sub-label 4th & B'way Records. It was a hit everywhere except for the United States. However, the group left Island Records after the album ran its course.
The album's most successful single was "My Definition of a Boombastic Jazz Style," which was a Top 10 hit in both Canada and Europe, sampled Quincy Jones’s “Soul Bossa Nova.” "Wash Your Face in My Sink" and "Ludi" were also notable singles.
