I've been putting people in here who were part of the ancient Greek world, even if their particular ethnicity or native place is unclear; the alternative would be some kind of vague "ancient people", which seems unnecessarily finicky and doesn't correspond to how anybody else categorizes. I have had very much the same problem when trying to categorize Roxana (which eventually gave up on doing, although Category:Ancient Macedon might do). I tend to believe, however, that "ancient people" is unavoidable. As some people will surely point out, Xerxes was very much a part of the Greek world (inasmuch as he had dealings with it), and yet he does not fit comfortably into the "Ancient Greeks" category. Note also that many categories will fit neatly inside the theoretical "Ancient People" category, including Ancient Greeks. -- Itai 18:35, 21 Sep 2004 (UTC)
