[edit] Criteria for inclusion

what is the criteria for inclusion in this category? It seems that it includes any city that once was contained within the Greek sphere of control during the Helenic and Helenistic Eras... and this strikes me as over broad. I would suggest that it should be limited to cities that were actually founded or majorly re-built by the Ancient Greeks.

For example... I really don't think you can call Ankara (Angora) an Ancient Greek city... while it existed during the time of Ancient Greece, it was founded by the Hittites, and substantially rebuild under Roman and Byzantine rule. What is the justification for calling it an Ancient Greek city? Blueboar 13:59, 11 July 2007 (UTC)
