“ | It's over for me. Here lies Carrie. She had two loves and lots 'o' shoes. | ” |
Carrie realizes her relationship with New York City is as dysfunctional as her relationship with men. Charlotte tells her that she read an article stating that women have two great loves in their lives; when Carrie says that she hasn't had any, Charlotte says that she has, Aiden and Big. Carrie then realises that by Charlotte's reasoning, she should now be done, and never find love again. Charlotte decides she needs to distance herself from her former life as Mrs. Trey MacDougal. Miranda tries to adjust to her new life with her baby, Brady Hobbes, as she realises that she can no longer be as included in her friends' lives as she used to be. Samantha gets phone calls from Richard begging her to take him back.
[edit] Trivia
This episode is based upon the New York City tradition of Fleet Week, when the US Navy docks in the city in the last week of May. The "big Navy party" that takes place is portrayed as well though sometimes there is more than one; and this is one of the many cultural icons defining New York City that is portrayed on the show.
