Ancholi

Ancholi is one of the neighborhoods of Gulberg Town in Karachi, Sindh, Pakistan. It is estimated that there are over half a million Shias living in the area, making it the largest Shia community in the country. Famous residents include Allamah Rasheed Turabi, Allama Talib Johari, and Maulana Syed Hasan Imdad Jafri.
There are several ethnic groups in Gulberg Town including Urdu speakers, Punjabis, Sindhis, Kashmiris, Seraikis, Pakhtuns, Balochs, Memons, Bohras, Ismailis. Over 99% of the population is Muslim. The population of Gulberg Town is estimated to be nearly one million.
