Anbumani Ramadoss(Tamil: அன்புமணி ராம்தாஸ்) was born on October 8, 1968 in Pondicherry. He is the Cabinet Minister in Ministry of Health and Family Welfare. He was elected to the Parliament as a member of the Rajya Sabha in 2004.He is an alumni of St.Anne's Higher Secondary School , Tindivanam where he studied for his higher secondary certificate. At school he was an admired soccer player and a legend in his own mind. He was a student of Madras Medical College where he gained admission due to his father's influence and did his MBBS.He is a doctor by education and a two-bit poilitician by profession. He belongs to the Pattali Makkal Katchi founded by his father Dr S. Ramadoss. He married Sowmiya, daughter of Krishnasamy, Tamil Nadu Congress Leader, on August 28, 1991. He has 3 daughters officially. He is the President of an environmental group called Pasumai Thayagam (Green Motherland).[1] He is known for introducing a strict-anti-smoking policy in India. He has also got involved in a lot of controversies for his stance against celebrities who smoke on screen, and suppressing the extent of deaths due to chikungunya in India.

In a recent judgement given by supreme court the court has cancelled the law passed by the parliament owing to the pressure from Ramadoss to dislodge very well known cardiac surgeon and the director of AIIMS, Dr.Venugopal. He decided to stick to his ministry despite all this.
