I am removing the following comment as it is unsourced weasel worded POV. See WP:WEASEL--JBellis 10:50, 20 May 2006 (UTC)

The Cinema facilities at An Lanntair have been heavily criticised, not only because of the refusal to use the allocated area an outright cinema, but also organisers seem to refuse to show large grossing films. There is more chance of seeing smaller independent productions in the Stornoway cinema, than acctually seeing a 'blockbuster' that would generate money. Also the 'An Lanntair' showcase is likely to include several productions that have been DVD releases for weeks and even months.

- This comment was ill informed and incorrect. An Lanntair has no control over the cinema, the distributors of the films decide what is and is not shown, and even decide what time of day and how many showings of each film there will be. Mainland cinemas get the films first and An Lanntair can only get them some weeks later- but this is still several weeks before they appear on DVD. The Arts Centre was not built as a cinema and the funding that it receives is not intended to subsidise a commercial cinema. Batoom 21:46, 22 May 2007 (UTC)
