[edit] Boyfriend from Greece with a Brain Aneurysm

This is rather nonsensical. I have read and watched just about every Amy Sedaris interview known to man. Not once has she mentioned a boyfriend from Greece who she nursed back to health after an aneurysm. In fact, if you read the interview about her imaginary boyfriend, Ricky, she states that Ricky was the one with the aneurysm. I've removed the sentence about the Greek boyfriend from the article. If anyone wants to add it again, please provide a link for verification. --BadMojoDE 21:55, 10 July 2007 (UTC)

Here you go: [[1]]. It's a New York Times article where she discusses it. Found through a relatively painless Google search. Apparently you haven't read and watched as many interviews as you thought.

If you feel that this is essential to the article - by all means - insert it and reference your source. The snide remark is uncalled for, though. BadMojoDE 23:50, 30 September 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Imaginary boyfriend

"Imaginary boyfriend"? Cute, on tone with the subject, but encyclopedic??

In what way is the sentence possibly not encyclopedic? Hyacinth 04:56, 30 Dec 2004 (UTC)

On her late show appearance (Jan 14, 2005), she stated that Ricky was murdered in a taxi after going to the hospital after she found a cyst on his obliques while they were making love in a bath tub. Presumably that means she no longer lives with him.

I still don't understand this whole "imaginary boyfriend", but there's an interview (which can be found here) that features Sedaris explaining it, which was done before he "died". Maybe you can make heads or tails out of it. --Bash 02:44, 10 July 2005 (UTC)
Its a comedy bit. What's to understand? 12.162.189.80 18:47, 5 June 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Category

This says that she was born and lives in NYC but one of the categories says People from North Carolina, am I missing something? Jaberwocky6669 20:17, 27 September 2005 (UTC) She was born in NYC, but raised in NC.--130.65.240.81 05:12, 28 January 2006 (UTC)

She was born in neither NYC, nor North Carolina. She was born in upstate New York (brother David's essays suggest the town of Endicott). The Sedaris family moved to Raleigh when Amy was 4 years old.

[edit] Romantic Past?

What's up with this line: Amy Sedaris is a frequent guest on Conan O'Brien, and fans speculate that they have a romantic past. Has that been documented anywhere? It should probably be removed otherwise. Lee Bailey 22:41, 28 April 2006 (UTC)

Agreed. It is best to back things like this with documentation or leave them out. Kukini 06:01, 1 May 2006 (UTC)

And she is not a very frequent guest on Conan's show, I believe, but on Letterman's. Perhaps she has been romantically involved with Conan but I've certainly not aware of it. And I know she hasn't been involved with Letterman (well, "know" as much as I know that Brazil fields a good soccer team at virutally every World Cup).--Wikitoddia 06:54, 22 June 2006 (UTC)

i dont speculate, so much as fantasize

Weren't she and Paul DiNello (Mr. Jellineck on Strangers With Candy) dating while the show was in production? I think they discussed this in one of the cast group interviews on the SWC DVD... --Jfruh (talk) 13:50, 2 August 2006 (UTC)

nope. amy and paul dinello dated until the second season of Exit 57. they dated for 8 years, since '88 when they met at Second City. i think people speculate about amy and conan bc there appears to be a familiarity between them whenever she guests on his show (ex. he said in one interview that he once saw piglet- one of amy's characters- do a 15-minute monologue of cursing)

[edit] Selected videography

Why is her appearance on the Colbert Report included with her film roles? It was a 6-minute segment on a talk show - I really don't think it's in the same category. --Marysunshine 22:18, 27 July 2006 (UTC)

  • Dunno, you were absolutely right to remove it. I could see it being mentioned in the main article but she's not a cast member of The Report. --TheTruthiness 00:41, 28 July 2006 (UTC)

[edit] School of Rock?

Was she really in School of Rock, I don't remember her there. Do we have a source for that? --Mr.crabby (Talk) 01:57, 19 September 2007 (UTC)

Nevermind, I found a source --Mr.crabby (Talk) 01:58, 19 September 2007 (UTC)
