Amy Kim Ganter

Amy Kim Ganter (b. 1980 in Binghamton, New York)[1] is an American author and illustrator of Original English-language manga. She has won the Rising Stars of Manga[2] compettition and is the author of Tokyopop's Sorcerers & Secretaries. [3] She won the third-place prize of $1,000 and a trophy for her story The Hopeless Romantic and the Hapless Girl in the fourth Rising Stars of Manga contest. [4]
She is also the creator of the webcomic Reman Mythology[5], a contributor to the Flight series of comics anthologies, and has adapted an R.L. Stein Goosebumps story for the graphic novel Terror Trips. [6]
After out-growing superhero comics like Spawn and X-Men, Ganter became influenced by the more realistic comics she discovered while on a childhood trip to Korea.[3] She cites Ranma 1/2 as an influence.[7] Ganter is married to Flight editor Kazu Kibuishi[7]; they reside in Alhambra, California.
