Amy's View

Amy's View is a play by English dramatist David Hare, originally performed at the Royal National Theatre's Lyttelton Theatre on June 13, 1997. It was directed by Richard Eyre and starred Samantha Bond as Amy and Judi Dench as Amy's mother, Esme. It was then premiered on Broadway on April 15, 1999. It was directed again by Eyre, with Dench and Bond reprising their roles. In November 2006, it was revived and toured various English theatre, with a new cast, until February 2007.

The play takes place in Pangbourne, Berkshire over the course of sixteen years, from 1979 to 1995. It focuses on Esme Allen, a well-known West End actress, and the relationship between both her daughter, Amy, and her daughter's boyfriend, Dominic.
