Dawn Xiana Moon (Born August 27, 1981) is known both as a singer-songwriter and writer for publications such as Relevant Magazine. The Chicago-based musician's stylings are a mixture of folk and pop on both the piano and guitar, following in the footsteps of artists such as Vienna Teng, Tori Amos, Joni Mitchell, and Sarah McLachlan. She is an innovator in melding western folk and pop music with eastern influences.

The Chinese-American was born in Singapore and began studying classical piano at the age of five, the same year her family moved to the United States. While in high school, she earned prizes for piano, flute, and voice in regional competitions. But it was Moon's first year at the University of Michigan, where she studied English literature and theatre, that shifted her musical paradigm: she began to play the guitar, which allowed her to being the process of writing her own music.

Recently she sang on a commissioned piece for Alvin Ailey Dance Company.
